Video Game Reviews of PSP 3000 Core Pack - Black

Customer Review: good
Summary: 4 Stars

over my first impression is that its super light and probably wont be durable if you drop it so many times. other than that im happy with the purchase im using as a music player and a console. my only disappointment would be it did not come with transfer cable and that would be another thing to buy.

Customer Review: I love you, PSP
Summary: 5 Stars

Got this beauty in today and ripped the box open and dove right in.

The screen, is beautiful, the scanlines so many fussed about are barely even noticeable, its a strain to even try to notice them. The system itself is WAY lighter than I expected, which is nice. Connecting online was so easy, I set up a skype account and played Logan's Shadow and Ratchet and Clank online, was pretty fun, and the communities in both are still active even though the games are old.

I'm in love with this sytem, I've always loved handhelds. Can't wait till next paycheck to run over to the game store and pick up some more discs.

Only complaint would really be the battery life, I got about 3 1/2 hours on it, so I'm seriously considering buying the extended battery life for it.

Customer Review: Good !

It's like good but the PSP 3000 series can't be hackeable.
If I knew about it before, I would have bought the PSP 2000 series.
lol

Customer Review: PSP portable gaming and movies
Summary: 4 Stars

The PSP is a pretty good gaming system. For most of the games, the graphics are amazing for the size of the screen. Also, I have yet to experience any screen tear or frame rate issues. I would definitely play using headphones. These games have great in game audio and the speakers on the PSP don't do them justice. Besides the games, the media capabilities of this system are pretty decent. Outside of the onboard codecs (mp3,wma,mp4,avi), the remote play feature linking it to the Playstation 3 is really cool. In essence, you can RDP into the PS3 and use most of the PS3 features through the PSP. The PS3 does the work and the PSP displays the image/audio. Although you can't play many games remotely (a very misleading function title on Sony's part), you can access any media server the PS3 sees. I think this is an awesome feature allowing you to remotely access music, photos, and videos or movies with your PSP. If you couple this feature with "PS3 media server" (Google it. Free transcoding software that supports HD streaming designed specifically for PS3.) you can watch any movie(including .mt2s aka BluRay) ripped to your pc's hard drive remotely on your PSP. Great when on you're on vacation or on business trip or a pirate.

The biggest downside to the PSP I have found is the power button placement. I would say I accidentially shut the system off 2-3 times a game. It's a real pisser when you've just about finished off a boss. The battery life is okay for home usage (about 3.5 hours), but get the long life battery if you plan on using it on a long flight or drive.

I took 1 star off for the power button placement and the lack of better remote gameplay capabilities. I understand why it is not feasible to play a PS3 game on the PSP due to controller differences, but they could've created or mandated that the smaller download games support PSP remote play capability (GTi,1945,Red Baron). It does support the PSone downloads.
