Video Game Reviews of PSP Protective FilterCustomer Review: Good but not perfect Summary: 3 StarsI bought the Hori screen protector for my PSP Slim after purchasing similar a product and being disappointed by the restult (the compeiting product was the Intec). I read all the reviews here on Amazon for the Hori and was looking forward to getting a superior screen protector.
Despite references to the Hori being slightly undersized I found that like the Intec the Hori was slightly OVERsized for use on the PSP Slim. Not having an original PSP to compare to I can't say if the slim has very slightly smaller screen (I am talking about perhaps 0.5mm of visible difference at most). This size issue means that neither product will sit down fully on the screen edges and thus you end up with a rim of bubbles were the screen protector cannot seal fully. This issue was the major reason I replaced the Intec with the Hori.
Comparing the Intec and the Hori leaves me almost certian that they both originate from the same factory. The share IDENTICAL tabs to remove the backing, though I will note that the Intec only has the bottom layer backing.
My soloution was to trim around 1mm from two sides of the Hori to get an acceptable fit. In my trials to get this product to work I discovered that it helps to use a strip of scotch invisible tape to clean the Hori between fitting attempts. Dust *will* get on the adhesive side if you don't take this step and we all know that dust equals impossible to smooth out bubbles.
B+ is the grade for this product at best. In my opinion what Sony should be doing is using a photo quality Multi Coated glass cover over the screen and not plastic. This would remove the need for these protectors entirely.
Customer Review: Disappointing Summary: 3 StarsI had purchased this for my original PSP and have been extremly pleased with it, so when I got my newer model PSP, I decided to get another. However, this protector doesn't fit the new PSP screen correctly - it is slighlty too small to completely cover the screen. Besides that, there was an eyelash pre-stuck to my protector (it wasn't mine, it was on the thing before I even took the protective sticker off it). Needless to say, I'm pretty disappointed. Great for the orginal PSP, assuming it doesnt come pre-packaged with someone elses body hair.
Customer Review: not sure how good this is because... Summary: 1 Starsi recieved this cover in a damaged condition and after e-mailing J&R about this they have yet to respond to my email about a replacement or a return. i will never do buisness with them again. maybe i'll try to get another Hori from a differnt retailer.
Customer Review: Don't let anyone Fool you this is the best Summary: 4 StarsWhen I was looking for a screen protector I came across a review on Gamespot about a Japanese screen protector Hori after looking for days at what the other screen protectors had to offer I got the Hori and its the best and I seen and that is with my own eyes. This screen protector not only protects but adds brightness and color richness. However there is only one screen protector and you have to be carefull putting it on if you mess up you have to get a another one so hit the bulls eyes.
Customer Review: Needs to go on quick and stay on Summary: 4 StarsGreat screen protector, but once you take off the film protecting the adhesive layer, you need to slap it on the screen ASAP. Once dust gets on the adhesive layer, it doesn't come off.
